Finale by Stephanie Garber is a fitting end to a trip that I will not soon forget. It has followed me into my dreams since I read chapter five of the first book in the series and has yet to relinquish its hold. Legend is scared (for good reason), Tella’s fearlessness, and Scarlett, well Scarlett is by all sense of the word, confused. A good read for any fans of the Caraval series, the only drawback was how the Legendary Legend got his powers. No spoilers, but the way the author ended the series will irk some, while immensely satisfying others. Fan and non-fan unlike, will still be entangled in the highly descriptive writing. (The author can describe the color red in such a way, you’ll feel like color was only just created for this series alone.) Be forewarned, if you read this book, do not hold Stephanie Garber responsible for the months of immersive dreams that are sure to follow.
