This is the second book in the Ash Princess Trilogy, and it was well worth the wait. Theodosia and her friends travel to a land filled with technological wonders that’s she never could have imagined. There she must do something that a Fire Queen has never done… wed a husband! Although she is against it, no one is more insistent that she mustn’t than Blaise. But out of love for her and respect for the title she wears, he stands by her. Theo loves him as well but will stop at nothing to protect the kingdom that she loves more. But, that’s not all… Do you remember the affinity she had for fire in the first book?
A queen is never to have such a power but how can Theo control stop something that she cannot control? There is one person who understands the power of heat and fire and once they meet again, she will have no problem burning her vengeance in Theo. Cress still believes that Theo stole Soren from her and she is ready to exact her revenge, no matter who she has to kill to get it. Delightfully, there are no love triangles!!! Soren is still a captive of Dragonsbane but he and Theo maintain a close friend with no thread of romance. The showdown at the end is what got us!!!
