The reading of The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai excellent! Not overdone. The story was interesting and I enjoyed the lack of insta-love. The African American Woman representation was AWESOME! No mad Black Woman syndrome here. It’s important that Black women be allowed to feel the same level of hurt as other women without feeling as though they’ll be labeled because of it. Ree was hurt, on guard, but able to hold her own. Sampson was vulnerable, ready to love, but fearful. It was a cute story. Only 3 sex scenes if I’m not mistaken and they are easy to spot and fast forward past. That said, this is not a smut book. Ree annoyed me with her constant mistrust, but once it was made clear why she had it, I understood. Samson was an absolute doll! I loved everything about him and enjoyed the happy ending. Be forewarned, if you don’t like cursing, there is quite a bit of it in this book. It isn’t overly done, but it also isn’t avoidable either. Over all, this won’t be everyone’s cup of tea due to specific content reasons, but it was great seeing Black and Brown love win!
